Mellow Corn Whiskey Where To Buy !FULL!
I found this for $8.00 bucks sitting on the bottom shelf. I was looking for something different to taste, and saw the Straight corn whiskey label. I was expecting a harsh drink, like unaged corn whiskey, but i was surprised. I agree with you saying for 100 proof it has very little burn to it, and those spicy notes in the middle are just great. I am not going to tell anyone though, because they might buy it all up, and the store may not get anymore. My bottle had a nice coating of dust on it from sitting there being ignored all these years. It seems like i am the only bottom shelf shopper sometimes.

Mellow Corn is produced in accordance with a unique set of regulations that define Straight Corn Whiskey. It is distilled from a mash of at least 80 percent corn and aged for four years in a once-used Bourbon barrel. Compared to the deep amber color created by the newly charred oak barrels in the production of our other Bourbons and American Whiskeys, the result of the used barrel is a lighter, straw-colored spirit. Heaven Hill Distillery is one of the few remaining producers of this unique whiskey.
This is just what it sounds like: Mellow Corn Whiskey. It's bottled-in-bond and simply an outstandingly good whiskey for all of your mellow drinking or mixing needs. If you don't have at least one corn whiskey in your liquor cabinet at home, it's not complete. If you don't have this bottle of Mellow Corn from Heaven Hill, you bought the wrong one.
Compared to bourbon (also made with corn), corn whiskey requires a higher percentage of corn in the mash (80 vs 51). But more importantly, corn whiskey cannot be aged in *new* charred oak barrels, which is the choice for bourbons. The new charred oak barrels is what lends to a lot of the woody, vanilla qualities generally associated with bourbons. By utilizing used barrels, the wood influence is much weaker in comparison, which also explains the lighter color of the whiskey despite being aged a good 4 years. 041b061a72
